Now that's a quote, 'An A.G. with principles". As if that should be unusual. The A.G. is the chief law enforcement office in a state. They should all have principles and yet 17 signed on to a p.r. stunt masquerading as a lawsuit. The A.G.'s that signed on are clearly afraid of Trump's voter base but if they can't execute the law faithfuly they needd to resign. We know why Paxton is doing it. He wants a pardon from charges he's faced since 2015.

It's good to see, but sad that he's alone.

Since Trump won Iowa, he can say that and it doesn’t cost him much of his political capital. I expect if Biden had narrowly carried Iowa, he’d be talking out of the other side of his mouth.

But good for him, for standing up for the truth.....I give him points, and Cornyn too, who once was the AG (and a state Supreme Court justice) here. He went on record yesterday saying he didn’t agree with the legal case Paxton is making.

The country is just full of opportunists and unprincipled Trump sycophants who want power any way they can get it. Service no longer matters. Elected office is just a license to grift these days...one that must be obtained and protected. Screw the people.

You should add Senator Ben Sasse to the list of people with integrity.

In my view it was probably Barr’s decision to leave early ....it gets him out of the hot seat....Trump can no longer call up and pressure him to engage in whatever skullduggery he has in mind.

He exits ahead of whatever last minute shenanigans Trump might try to pull.....and he doesn’t have to weigh an opinion about pardons that might be illegal and ill-advised.
