Eventually we all are going to catch it or most of us will. That's been clear for a while now.

Donald Trump wanted a legacy as a great president. When given the opportunity to lead and prove his greatness, he turned to Jesse Jackson's victim card and sound bites to please his poorly educated base. Even upon getting it and landing in the hospital, it is comical how he is handling it

Clearly he missed his chance at a legacy. Now he will miss his chance for a second term.

Trump blew it. I was reading a newsletter from December of last year that had him favored to win the presidency. He was actually the first to quarantine after the official Jan 2020 Wuhan announcement (Jan 31 I believe, literally one of the first if not the first country in the world), but then failed to followup with something as simple as masks. He blew his chance for an easy second term. And with a second term he could have made more money for his real estate, which is heavily in debt and likely to go bankrupt in the next few years. Nobody to blame but himself.

Imagine if we could test 10× as many people tomorrow.
The number of cases would go through the roof!

Talked to my folks in Ohio this AM, apparently it is bad there. My parents are in their 70s so they're being careful, but as an OH native I can imagine a lot of people there acting like idiots and exacerbating the problem.

All he had to do was put on a mask with the flag on it and tell everyone to be patriotic and wear a mask. His base would have loved it.

It's going to have to work it's way through the population, the CDC and WHO admit they can't stop Covid-19...only slow it to try to not overwhelm healthcare facilities.

The old and weak need to be weeded out of the human race occasionally. What would you rather die by? Covid or being eaten by wolves or a saber tooth tiger?

Why do I see people in restaurants

can't they think?

(not quite a haiku ... dang)

Trump's pitch to Ohio voters might be along the lines of "But other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln"

Once this election is over, I think COVID is going to be THE story for a while.

I really can't believe I made it this far without getting infected. I was seriously confronting my own mortality back in the spring when I decided to just show up and do my job and use the best protocols I could...because I knew and still know that the best protocols aren't perfect.

A good vaccine would be welcomed by this healthcare worker, at this point.

If the infection rate is constant, the growth in total cases is most likely due to more testing. Not more infections. You can't make a judgement strictly on the total number of cases without knowing the infection rate.

Ohio's cases are not that high compared to some places, especially in the upper Midwest. The US is setting all time highs on cases now, and hospitalizations are rising everywhere. The hospitalization surge they expected in the Spring is now arriving. Unfortunately, despite better thereputics, people are still going to die, and we'll see rising death rates and rising cases for awhile.

This is what anti-maskers wanted. They wanted to do "herd immunity" the hard way, and now it's here. I expect it will swing a few votes, among those who haven't voted yet.
