NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Ford Motor Co. (F) announced on Thursday that it is issuing three separate safety recalls in the U.S. and Canada.

The automaker announced that it is recalling about 38,000 model year 2015 to 2016 low-roof Ford Transit vehicles in order to inspect the cars' airbags.

"It is possible the side-curtain airbags are positioned incorrectly on either or both sides of the vehicle, which may influence side-curtain airbag performance and increase the risk of injury in a crash," the company said in a statement.

Ford is also recalling model year 2015 to 2016LincolnMKC and 2016 FordExplorer cars in order to replace the cars' heaters, which currently could overheat and cause an underhood fire. About 5,500 cars will be affected.
