NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Twitter (TWTR) - Get Free Report rose slightly on Monday after the social media company announced a partnership with major Indonesian telecommunications operator Indosat in an effort to bring in new users in the populous Southeast Asian nation.
Twitter hopes the partnership, the first of its kind in Asia, will streamline the sign-up process for new users who want to receive tweets about the World Cup. The company is trying to lure new users as its stock has slid for much of the year amid investor concerns that its user base is stalling.
The stock was up 0.36% to $39.38 at 1:02 p.m.
