NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- After Thursday's market close, Costco (COST) - Get Report is expected to post 2016 fourth-quarter earnings per share that are unchanged from a year ago but revenue that has increased.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters are looking for adjusted earnings of $1.73 per share on revenue of $36.9 billion for the quarter.
For the year-ago period, Costco reported earnings of $1.73 per diluted share on revenue of $35.0 billion.
Shares are down nearly 7% so far this year, and Baird on Friday said to buy Costco stock on weakness, according to TheFly.
The firm expects improved traffic and sales later this year, as comps ease and customers realize the benefits of Costco's switch to Visa (V) credit cards.
Baird reiterated an "outperform" rating and $175 price target on the stock.
Shares were down in early-afternoon trading on Tuesday.
