
Viacom (VIAB) Stock Higher Today After Expanding Hulu Deal With Disney (DIS)
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Viacom Inc. (VIAB) - Get Viacom Inc. Class B Report are up 1.43% to $72.92 after announcing a deal for more shows to stream on The Walt Disney Co.'s (DIS) - Get Walt Disney Company Report Hulu, according to Hulu's blog.
Hulu announced Tuesday that it has renewed its distribution deal with the media company that allows it to replenish and expand its library of content from Viacom's portfolio of cable networks, Hulu said.
The deal expands on the original deal that began in 2011 and will give Hulu more access to programming from such networks as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, VH1, TVLand, Spike, BET and Logo, the company said.
"All episodes will be added to Hulu over the next few weeks, giving you the perfect excuse to continue your fall TV binge," the company said, adding, "We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Viacom and even more thrilled to be bringing these great shows to our Hulu viewers."
