Widely held tech stocks were taking up the majority of the spots on Instinet's after-hours volume leader board Friday, but a handful of industrial companies also made their way into the mix.

Volume was respectable for the last session of the week, with around 3.3 million shares changing hands among the top 20 volume movers.

Traders had little news in the late session to drive the action.

was off 0.4% at $8.86.

was off 0.2% at $17.05.

were active in the extra session after both lost ground in regular trading. AES was slipping another 1.4% following the close, after dropping more than 26% during the day. Calpine was up 0.1% to $7.65.
