( WCOM) was the most active stock on Instinet after the close Monday, but the voice and data service provider's shares were flat at $1.84.

Volume was on the light side. In the first hour of the extra session, around 1.9 million shares had changed hands among the top-20 most active stocks on the Instinet platform.

was dropping almost 10% to $24.90 as the company met expectations for the latest quarter but warned of a shortfall for the full year.

Providian Financial

( PVN) was among the top winners, adding 5.5% to $6.70. Following the close, the credit card company said its first-quarter earnings plunged from the same period a year ago, but the result matched estimates.
