The after-hours session was slow Friday as news was light and traders seemed to have already put the choppy week behind them and headed out for the two-day break.

In the first hour of trading, only around 1.5 million shares had changed hands among the top-20 volume movers on the Instinet platform.

Cisco

(CSCO) - Get Cisco Systems Inc. Report

was the volume leader, trading up 0.4% to $15.30.

Applied Materials

(AMAT) - Get Applied Materials Inc. Report

was off 0.2% at $42.41, and the

Nasdaq 100 Unit Trust

(QQQ) - Get Invesco QQQ Trust Report

was losing 2.4% to $32.84.

Elsewhere, widely held tech shares were active, as is usually the case.
