Shares of Stryker Corp. (SYK)  shot up in premarket trading on Wednesday, June 13, after the medical technology firm said in an 8-K filing that it wasn't in talks to acquire Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX) .

Stryker's shares jumped nearly 7% to $173.89. Shares of Boston Scientific fell 6.5% to $31.65.

The filing came on the heels of a Wall Street Journal article on Monday stating that Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Stryker had recently made a takeover approach to Marlborough Mass.-based Boston Scientific.
