Markets were higher across Asia overnight, but stocks were mixed in European trading sessions.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 1.4% to 20,682, and South Korea's Kospi gained 0.4% to 1560. Taiwan's Taiex was better by 0.3% at 7927.
India's Sensex was up 1.5% at 14,078, and the Jakarta Composite increased 0.9% to 2026. The Straits Times Index in Singapore added 1% to 3451.
London's FTSE 100 was ahead by 0.4% at 6538, and the Frankfurt Xetra DAX edged up 0.3% at 7477. The Cac 40 in Paris rose 0.2% to 6004.
Meanwhile, Milan's MIB 30 slipped 0.4% to 43,482, and the Swiss Market Index gave back 0.6% to 9393. The Stockholm 30 was worse by 0.9% at 1257.
Among major markets in the Americas, Canada's S&P/TSX Composite was seeing a 0.7% rise. Mexico's Bolsa and Brazil's Bovespa each were stronger by about 1.5%, and Argentina's Merval advanced 0.5%.
