U.S. Treasury issues were higher around 4 p.m. EDT. The 10-year note was up 14/32 to 101 5/32, yielding 4.72%.

The 30-year bond rose half a point, adding 16/32 to 99 1/32 and yielding 5.44%.

Shorter-term notes were also on the upside. The two-year climbed 4/32 to 100 7/32 to yield 2.76%, and the five-year was gaining 8/32 to 101 28/32 to yield 3.95%.
