NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Initial jobless claims rose in the week ending April 23.
Claims increased by 25,000 to 429,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 404,000. Economists, on average, were expecting the figure to come in at 390,000.
The 4-week moving average increased by 9,250 to 408,500 from the previous week's revised average of 399,250.
