On Tap Today: Fed Ex, Micron Will Be Reporting Earnings

(FDX) - Get FedEx Corporation Report

announces its earnings today. The results come on the heels of a profit

warning issued by the company just days ago. Last Thursday, FedEx warned that it would not meet projected earnings for 2001. (FedEx also takes center stage on Jan. 3, 2001, when it will sponsor the

FedEx Orange Bowl, a clash between Florida St. and Oklahoma for college football's national championship.)

Shares of FedEx traded up 0.61% to finish at $37.75 Tuesday.

Also reporting earnings today is chipmaker heavyweight

Micron Technology

(MU) - Get Micron Technology, Inc. Report

, whose shares trading down 3.47% to finish at $34.75 at the end of yesterday's action.

On the economic front,

housing starts for November will be released before the bell this morning. The numbers are considered to be a good leading indicator of home sales, as well as overall consumer spending.
