
On Tap Today: Cisco, Walt Disney, Marriott Slated to Report Earnings
Aside from yesterday's serving of cold, sloppy weather, all the chatter on Wall Street today will be about networking giant
Cisco
(CSCO) - Get Cisco Systems Inc. Report
, which reports earnings for its fiscal second quarter after the closing bell this afternoon.
The San Jose-based company recently
guided analysts' estimates down when it announced that earnings growth for the fiscal year will be between 30% and 50%, as opposed to the 55% to 65% asserted by CEO John Chambers back in early December.
Shares of Cisco traded down 2.6% to finish at $34.56 yesterday.
As for economic data, the
BTM-UBSW Weekly Chain Store Sales Index and the
Redbook Retail Average are set to release at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. respectively. This
dynamic duo has the potential to move markets and should give us the skinny on consumer spending.
