The world's largest aluminum manufacturer, Alcoa (AA) - Get Report, posts third-quarter results today. The first Dow Jones Industrial Average component to issue a report this season, Alcoa is up 11.2% for the week.

Also today, the

Federal Reserve releases the minutes of its monetary policymaking committee's Aug. 22 meeting. Since the Fed has already revealed that it recognizes the economy is slowing, today's minutes are unlikely to move markets.
