Mixed Day for World Stocks

Asia is higher.

Global stocks were inconsistent Monday, climbing overnight in Asia but weakening for the most part in Europe.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 rose 0.9% to 17,557, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.1% at 20,928.

China's CSI 300 advanced 1.5% to 3831, and Taiwan's Taiex added 1.3% to 8142. South Korea's Kospi climbed 1% to 1628, while India's Sensex was better by 0.8% at 14,419.

Singapore's Straits Times edged up 0.06% to 3514.

London's FTSE 100 ticked down 0.06%, but Germany's Xetra DAX gained 0.2% to 7619. The Paris Cac 40 and the Swiss Market Index were each lower by 0.2%. Italy's MIB 30 shed 1.6% to 43,627.

As for the Americas, Mexico's Bolsa was up 0.3% at 30,757, and Argentina's Merval jumped 1.1% to 2210. Brazil's Bovespa rose 0.4% to 52,298.
