Mixed Day for Global Stocks

Tokyo is lower.

Most of the world's major stock markets moved higher Thursday, but a key index in Japan slipped overnight.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 lost 0.2% to 17,499, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.3% at 20,995.

China's CSI 300 rose 2.1% to 3779, and Taiwan's Taiex advanced 0.6% to 8038. South Korea's Kospi was better by 0.8% at 3312, and Singapore's Straits Times Index was up 0.7% to 3526. India's Sensex was ahead by 1.2% at 14,300.

London's FTSE 100 rose 0.3% to 6579, and Frankfurt's Xetra DAX increased 0.2% to 7499. The Paris Cac 40 edged up 0.2% to 6027.

The Swiss Market Index shed 0.4% at 9358, but Milan's MIB 30 climbed 0.5% to 43,910. Zagreb's Crobex fell 1.2% to 5079, and Serbia's Belex 15 eased 0.05% to 3149.
