Market Stays Stuck in Mud into Home Stretch

Despite a decidedly weak U.S. dollar, the Treasury market is firm today, thanks for the most part to stock-market weakness. The 30-year Treasury bond was up 13/32 to 102 26/32, yielding 5.31%.

, decliners were beating advancers 2,013 to 1,026 on volume of 647 million shares, while on the
Nasdaq Stock Market
, decliners were beating advancers 2,750 to 1,392 on volume of 565 million shares.
On the NYSE, 371 issues have made new lows while only 6 have made new highs. On the Nasdaq, 457 new lows have been hit while new highs also totaled 6.
