terminated their merger talks without reaching an agreement. The companies said they reached a tentative deal last week but could not agree on certain details.
Foster Wheeler

received a contract from the
Defense Department
worth up to $1.2 billion. Under the contract, Foster Wheeler will manage the environmental restoration of the
Army's
Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Commerce City, Colo.
PanEnergy
(PEL)
said it signed a letter of intent to develop a 250-megawatt power plant in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
International Nursing
(NURS)
restated its third-quarter and full-year 1996 results, citing an accounting change required by the
Securities and Exchange Commission
. The third-quarter results were restated to a loss of 42 cents per share from a 2-cent loss. The full-year figure was restated to a 57-cent loss from a 19-cent loss.

authorized a buyback of up to 20.4 million shares.
