The yen fell against the dollar after comments from a finance ministry official led to worries that the Bank of Japan will initiate a yen selling program to weaken the currency. The dollar rose to 120.26 yen, up from 120.11 Thursday. The dollar was trading 89.37 cents per euro, down from 89.24 in the prior session. The euro bought 107.45 yen. The British pound rose to $1.4587 from $1.4540.
