announced a strategic alliance to deliver Internet access on the East Coast. The deal includes a warrant for Cablevision to buy 11 million shares of @Home for 50 cents a share.

Merrill Lynch

cut its third-quarter earnings-per-share estimate on

Boeing

(BA) - Get Report

to 46 cents from 53 cents. The

First Call

consensus is 49 cents.

Ansys

(ANSS) - Get Report

warned that third-quarter results would likely come in at about 10 cents a share, well below the 15 cents a share forecast by First Call. The company earned 16 cents a share in the year-earlier period.

Intel

(INTC) - Get Report

and

Chips and Technologies

(CHPS)

announced they had settled shareholder litigation.

Aware

(AWRE) - Get Report

said it expects a third-quarter loss of 10 cents to 12 cents a share. Analysts had forecast a 3-cent loss, which compares with earnings of a penny a year earlier. The company makes asymmetrical digital subscriber lines -- whatever those are.

named Sid Craig chief executive.

Quarterdeck

(QDEK)

said it would likely report a fourth-quarter loss. It will also take a $14 million charge in the quarter. First Call has no estimates for the company, which lost 73 cents a share in the year-earlier quarter.
