Asian markets and U.S. stock futures were down in early Monday trading.

Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 75.87 points, or 0.34%, to 22,474.98. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng fell 129.04 points, or 0.43%, to 29,737.28. Stocks were 0.66% lower in Singapore at 3,331.56.

In U.S. stock futures overnight, Dow futures were down 31 points, or 0.13%, at 23,486. Nasdaq and S&P futures were both down as well, 0.14% and 0.12% respectively, at 6,404.75 and 2,597.75.

Gold futures were up $1.80, or 0.14%, to $1,293.60, while oil futures were down 0.51%, to 58.65.

On an abbreviated trading day for Wall Street on Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 31.81 points, to close 0.14% higher, at 23,557.99. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also rose, 0.21% and 0.32%, respectively, to close at 2,602.42 and 6,889.16.
