
Alibaba (BABA) Stock Rises After Jack Ma's Apple Comments
Shares of Alibaba (BABA) were up in morning trading Tuesday after chairman and co-founder Jack Ma said he would be open to a partnership with Apple (AAPL).
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Alibaba (BABA) - Get Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Report rose 2.67% to $100.40 in morning trading Tuesday after chairman and co-founder Jack Ma said he would be open to a partnership with Apple (AAPL) - Get Apple Inc. Report .
Ma spoke at the WSJDLive technology conference on Monday and said he is interested in working with Apple and the tech giant's recently-launched mobile wallet Apple Pay. Ma said he sees "great opportunities" for e-commerce to flourish in the U.S.
"I hope we can do something together," Ma said, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the conference that he plans to meet with Ma later this week to discuss a possible partnership.
