RealMoney’s Eric Jhonsa breaks down Amazon’s fourth-quarter earnings report and call with analysts.

Tech behemoth Amazon reports its fourth quarter earnings after the close today, and investors will be looking to see the ongoing impact of the pandemic on sales and profits in the important holiday quarter, as well as the latest figures for the fast-growing and highly profitable Amazon Web Services.

The e-commerce giant is expected by analysts polled by FactSet to earn $7.20 per share for the quarter on sales of $119.7 billion, which would be Amazon’s first $100 billion revenue quarter. And for Q1 2021, analysts are expecting earnings per share of $9.05 (81% year-over-year growth) on sales of $95.8 billion (27% growth).
