Texas Monthly reported that the company’s subsidiary, Tesla Energy Ventures, has filed an application to the Public Utility Commission in Texas to sell electricity. The company is reportedly planning to build two giant utility-scale batteries in the state.
Earlier in February, Texas made headlines after it suffered a major power crisis due to severe winter storms. At least 210 people lost their lives due to the winter storm.
During that time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk slammed Texas’ power grid manager, the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas, for being unreliable.
