Virgin Galactic  (SPCE) - Get Free Report is reopening ticket sales for space tourists, and it's going to cost you roughly $450,000 per seat.

The space tourism firm made the announcement as it reported its latest earnings on Thursday.

“Leveraging the surge in consumer interest following the Unity 22 flight, we are excited to announce the reopening of sales effective today, beginning with our Spacefarer community,” the company's chief executive Michael Colglazier said in a statement. “As we endeavor to bring the wonder of space to a broad global population, we are delighted to open the door to an entirely new industry and consumer experience.”

Space tourism is gaining more traction following Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos' respective trips.

Virgin Galactic founder Richard Branson successfully made a space trip on its SpaceShipTwo on July 11.

Nine days later, Amazon  (AMZN) - Get Free Report founder Jeff Bezos also took a trip to space on Blue Origin’s rocket ship, New Shepard.
