On Aug. 17, Pfizer (PFE) - Get Free Report submitted data to FDA submits data to FDA to support the COVID-19 Vaccine booster shot for the general population.

“The data we’ve seen to date suggests a third dose of our vaccine elicits antibody levels that significantly exceed those seen after the two-dose primary schedule. We are pleased to submit these data to the FDA as we continue working together to address the evolving challenges of this pandemic," said Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, in a statement. 

The move came after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention followed the FDA in approving booster shots for immunocompromised people. 

The recommendation is for Pfizer  (PFE) - Get Free Report vaccine recipients 12 years and older and Moderna  (MRNA) - Get Free Report vaccine recipients 18 years and older.
