NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Viewers have questions and Jim Cramer has answers.
One viewer asked whether Apple(AAPL) - Get Report will be adversely by Verizon's(VZ) - Get Report decision to no longer subsidize its phones. He said the decision will hurt Verizon, and this is the wrong time for the company to make sure a move because AT&T(T) - Get Report and T-Mobile (TMUS) - Get Report are coming on strong, and Sprint(S) - Get Report had a decent quarter. Verizon should reverse course.
If EMC (EMC) buys the rest of VMware(VMW) - Get Report, would he look for Microsoft(MSFT) - Get Report or Dell to acquire Citrix (CTRX) ? Cramer said Citrix was at a 52-week high last week and that it is a stock that he likes on a fundamental basis, but he wouldn't speculate about any takeover.
A viewer asked where he sees shares of Mattel(MAT) - Get Report going. Cramer said Mattel is making a comeback, and that with Hasbro(HAS) - Get Report launching new Star Wars products, he'd like to buy both stocks. Asked if KKR(KKR) - Get Report is a buy, sell or hold, Cramer said he likes the stock's yield and thinks it is sustainable because he thinks the IPO market will be okay for KKR.
Cramer was asked about Chesapeake Energy(CHK) - Get Report as a natural gas play but Cramer's not buying. You should sell because the company doesn't have the balance sheet to get through the current downturn. He pointed out that if you owned EOG Resources(EOG) - Get Report, an Action Alerts PLUS holding, that company will talk about how there's still not a lot of properties that are undervalued. Watch Chesapeake, and if the stock goes down enough something could happen.
Finally, on Alcoa(AA) - Get Report he said the company is being hurt because it makes aluminum. If you look at the overlap between Precision Castparts (PCP) , which Warren Buffett just bought, and what Alcoa has, you should rethink your negativity on Alcoa.
At the time of publication, Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS had a position in AAPL and EOG.
