U.S. stock futures rose modestly overnight in the wake of a bruising selloff during Monday's regular session on trade war fears.

The Dow Jones mini contract edged higher by 14 points to 24,293. The S&P 500 e Mini contract rose 2 to 2,724.25. And the Nasdaq 100 mini slipped 1.50 to 7,072.00.

U.S. stocks fell sharply Monday. The Dow Industrials lost more than 300 points, or 1.3% to 24,252. The S&P 500 dropped 1.4% to 2,717 and the Nasdaq composite fell 2.1% to 7,532.

Shares fell overnight in Asia, with stocks trading lower in Tokyo and South Korea.
