The major U.S. averages were struggling to start the day, but all three have pared losses and the Dow is the lone index in the red Tuesday afternoon.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.25%, or 62 points, to 25,157 while the Nasdaq rose 0.74%, or 53 points, to 7,293 and the S&P 500 climbed 0.15%, or 4 points, to 2,737.
