Shares of Whirlpool Corp. (WHR) - Get Report were falling by 4.74% to $180.99 on Thursday morning, after the home appliance manufacturer and marketer posted earnings per share for the second quarter that fell short of estimates and cut its full year guidance.

Whirlpool posted adjusted earnings of $3.35 per share for the most recent quarter, down from $3.50 per share in the same quarter a year ago. Second quarter EPS fell 19 cents short of analysts' estimates.

Revenue of $5.3 billion came in above the $5.2 billion the company posted for the same period the prior year, and was in line with forecasts.

Looking ahead to the full year Whirlpool is expecting EPS in a range between $14.50 and $15, below its previous guidance range between $14.75 and $15.50 per share.
