One of the strongest performing areas of Walt Disney Co.'s (DIS) - Get Report business in its fiscal third quarter were its parks.

Sales and operating profit rose 12% and 18%, respectively, the media giant revealed on Tuesday. In large part, Disney attributed the gains to higher average ticket prices and increases in food, beverage and merchandise spending among guests.

Judging by how much Disney is now charging families for a visit (see TheStreet's calculations below), it shouldn't be a surprise the parks and resorts segment was the top performer in the quarter.
