Walmart Is Reviewing Its Brazil Business

Walmart Inc. (WMT) may not be all-in on Brazil.

The company said it is reviewing its Brazilian business in a quarterly report Thursday morning.

"We're continually reviewing our portfolio and consistent with that, we're currently considering options for our business in Brazil," said Walmart chief financial officer Brett Biggs.

Walmart had a total of 498 stores in Brazil in 2017, according to Statista. The company began its Brazil business in 1995 and is headquartered in Sao Paolo. It operates a number of brands including BIG, Bompreço, Hiper Bompreço, Magazine, Maxxi, Mercadorama, Nacional, Sam's Club, Hiper TodoDia, Supermercado TodoDia, TodoDia, Walmart and Walmart Posto.

Walmart's stock pushed higher 0.95% in premarket trading Thursday.
