NEW YORK (

TheStreet

) -- Just one day after

Wal-Mart

(WMT) - Get Walmart Inc. Report

announced it is shuttering its MP3 business, the discount behemoth took another stride in its streaming movie service.

Wal-Mart is bringing its Vudu service to the iPad. The application will allow iPad users to rent or buy content and stream it directly through the device.

Vudu's library includes more than 20,000 movies and television shows.

Wal-Mart has been aggressive in its push for Vudu, last month announcing it will begin offering some movies the same day they are released on DVD.

As the retailer focuses on streaming content, it is doing away with digital music.

Wal-Mart said on Tuesday that it will stop selling music online

starting at the end of the month.
