said it plans to build a $200 million multi-terabit submarine cable system linking Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.
This new intra-Asia cable will enable VSNL International to better serve its global customers doing business in and with the burgeoning Asia-Pacific markets, the India-based company said.
VSNL International will start building the new intra-Asia cable by December. The scheduled build time for the project is 12-14 months. The company is finalizing design details, selecting suppliers and identifying additional partners.
VSNL's stock was trading at $17.70, up 30 cents Monday.
