The core brand for German car maker Volkswagen (VLKAY) has vowed to end losses in the U.S., Latin America, and Russia by 2020 as it depends on cost cuts and higher margin new models to help it move beyond the 2015 diesel emissions scandal, Reuters reports.

"We have been growing (sales) again in the U.S., South America and also in Russia since the start of the year," brand finance chief Arno Antlitz told a news conference, Reuters said. "We expect this positive development to continue over the course of the year."
