CEO Doug Parker said the company expects to report a profit for the current quarter.
"We are projecting a profit for the second quarter of 2010," Parker said at the company's annual meeting in Washington, D.C. This marks US Airways' first profitable quarter since the third quarter of 2007.
"We are encouraged by both our prospects and the prospects for the industry," Parker noted. He said revenue per available seat mile is running about 20% higher than during 2009.
