NEW YORK (
second quarter topped Wall Street's estimates, sending shares gaining in after-market trading.
During the quarter, Urban Outfitters earned $71.7 million, or 42 cents a share, a 46% surge over $49 million, or 29 cents, in the year-ago period for the specialty retailer.
Urban Outfitters sales grew 20% to $552.2 million from $458.6 million, while same-store sales rose 11%.
Analysts were calling for a profit of 39 cents on revenue of $542.1 million for Urban Outfitters.
