Univision, which is based in Los Angeles, broadcasts Spanish-language television. The company will acquire USA Broadcasting's 13 fully owned full-power stations, as well as USA Networks' minority interests in four additional full-power stations.
Univision owns and operates 12 full-power and seven low-power television stations. The acquisition includes stations in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Philadelphia.
Shares of Univision were recently trading up 69 cents, or 1.9%, to $37, while USA Networks gained $1.06, or 6.3%, to $18.
