UnitedHealth's Medicare Contracts Approved

The Ovations program wil offer prescription drug plans in all 50 states.

UnitedHealth Group (UNH) - Get Report says the federal government has approved its contracts for the Medicare prescription drug program.

The Minnetonka, Minn.-based health care service provider said that through its business division Ovations, it can again offer stand-alone prescription drug plans in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Ovation also has qualified to enroll lower-income Medicare recipients and individuals who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.

The stock closed down 9 cents, or 0.2%, to $49.49 Wednesday.
