MLB couldn't wait to have its players rock Under Armour (UA) - Get Under Armour, Inc. Class C Report .

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred revealed Thursday at a media conference that Under Armour uniforms will be worn by players starting in 2019, a year ahead of a prior plan.

"Working closely with Major League Baseball, Under Armour is excited to accelerate our on-field debut of Under Armour uniforms and authentic gear for all 30 teams in 2019," Under Armour said in a statement. "We also look forward to engaging and exciting the league's incredibly diverse fan-base around the world and distributing fan gear across various distribution channels in 2018."

In April, Under Armour and MLB inked a 10-year deal to be the exclusive provider of all on-field uniform components, including jerseys featuring Under Armour branding, for all 30 Major League Baseball teams. It will also provide exclusive connected fitness offerings -- likely wearable devices and specially tailored apps -- to MLB teams. It was the first time Under Armour landed a uniform deal with an entire pro sports league.
