Under Armour (UA) - Get Report  posted third-quarter revenue of $1.47 billion, and bottom-line earnings of $128.23 million, beating consensus forecasts and registering a 22.5% rise in revenue from a year earlier.

Under Armour said earnings per share were 29 cents, up from 23 cents in the year-earlier period.

The stock rose 0.3% in premarket trading on Tuesday.

Analysts were forecasting the company would outperform in the third quarter, with sales of $1.45 billion and earnings per share of 25 cents. That was despite the company issuing a sales warning at the end of May and lowering its full-year sales guidance due to Sports Authority's bankruptcy.

The Baltimore-based company said at the time that it would report $4.93 billion in sales this year, down from the $5.0 billion forecast in April and said it would take a $23 million impairment charge related to the Sports Authority collapse during the second quarter.
