Time Inc.'s (TIME) Time Magazine named former digital editor Edward Felsenthal as its new editor in chief, replacing former EIC Nancy Gibbs who will remain with the magazine as the editorial director until the end of the year.

Felsenthal has run the magazine's digital initiatives since April 2013 while also acting as the digital director for the news and lifestyle groups of Time Inc.

Time Inc is in the midst of a $400 million cost cutting initiative. The company has previously stated that it expects to have a stronger second half of the year than first.
