Time Warner's (TWX) magazine unit bought a golfing Web site.
Terms weren't disclosed, but New York-based Time Inc. said it bought golf.com from a consortium including the site's founders, NBC Universal,
New York Times
and private investors.
Golf.com pulls an average of 1.3 million unique visitors monthly. Time Inc. already publishes
SI Golf Plus
"This acquisition not only gives Time Inc. the best URL in golf, but also an unprecedented offering of the most powerful and trusted brands in the sport," said Time co-operating chief John Squires.
Golf.com will be run by the company's Time4 Media division under
publisher Chris Wightman.
