The Frankfurt Motor Show, the largest auto show in the world, on Tuesday kicked off its two press preview days during which the majority of new car launches and reveals occur.

One such reveal was Daimler's (DDAIY) Mercedes "Project One" hypercar, which boasts several impressive features including a F1-inspired V6 engine which has 11,000rpm. Deliveries of the new hypercar are slated for late next year, or in the beginning of 2019.

Ferrari (RACE) - Get Report also unveiled its new entry-level model, the Portofino. Named after the Italian town of Portofino, the new car carries maximum power capability of 600 cv and can launch from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.5 seconds. The Portofino is powered by an eight cylinder GT engine, boasting maximum speed capabilities of over 320 km per hour.

BMW (BMWYY) also turned heads at the world's largest auto show on Tuesday when it debuted its BMW M5. The newest super car comes equipped with 600bph with a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds. The new M5 also boasts a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

Honda (HMC) - Get Report also revealed its Urban EV, its all-new compact electric vehicle. The Urban EV resembles older compact models from the 1970-80s. Production of the Japanese automaker's electric car will start soon with the goal of launching the vehicle in European markets by 2019.

Volkswagen (VLKAY) also captured attention at Tuesday's initial press event debuting its newest Porsche Cayenne and its latest Volkswagen Polo, the sixth-generation of the compact hatch model.
