October sales results for U.S. automakers received a healthy boost thanks to high demand for both.
At General Motors' (GM) - Get Reportsales of high-margin pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and crossovers all rose in October. At Ford (F) - Get Report , a 15.9% spike in sales of its F-Series Pickup trucks drove sales last month, and in their third-quarter. At Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) - Get Report sales of SUVs and pickup trucks, boosted its North American profit margin to 8% in the third quarter.
