Tesla (TSLA - Get Report) short David Einhorn took to Twitter Friday to call for the resignation of Elon Musk, the CEO of the electric car company, after Walmart (WMT - Get Report) sued Tesla over defective solar panels.

The hedge fund manager at Greenlight Capital mocked Tesla's mantra of wanting to save the human species while also pointing out that the company's solar panels are "still defective and could cause fires."

If @Tesla wants to save the human species, it should pay more attention to the
safety of its own customers. You shouldn't have to be Walmart to have your
dangerous solar panels fixed. @Elonmusk

How many solar panels are still defective and could cause fires? @Tesla should
immediately notify the people who live in and work in buildings at risk. Secret
Project Titan is over the line. A recall should have happened long ago @USCPSC.
@Elonmusk should resign.

In the past, Einhorn has taken Tesla to task over the safety of its vehicles and the company's growth story.

Tesla didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tesla shares are down 4.46% to $212.24 on Friday.
