Sprint Nextel

traded actively in its first day as a merged company. The Overland Park, Kan., telco also completed a marketing deal with the National Football League that will establish Sprint as "the official wireless telecommunications service sponsor of the NFL, marking an historic arrangement that reaches beyond marquee branding and delivers first-ever, exclusive NFL content and original programming." Sprint rose 2 cents to $26.17.
