, the Chicago based telecom company, provided guidance Wednesday on first-quarter operating revenues and net income .
The company expects operating income of $100 million to $120 million in the first quarter, on revenue of $1.05 billion to $1.07 billion. Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call were expecting revenue of $1.02 billion.
The company operates through its business units, U.S. Cellular and TDS Telecom.
U.S. Cellular updated its guidance for the year ending Dec. 31, 2006. It expects operating income of $230 million to $290 million, on service revenue of about $3.2 billion.
TDS Telecom for ILEC operations expects operating income of $145 million to $160 million for the full year, on revenue of $660 million to $675 million and for CLEC operations expects operating loss of $5 million to $10 million, on revenue of $230 million to $240 million.
TDS is not in compliance with AMEX listing requirements due to delay in filing its quarterly and annual reports. The company has been granted an extension till June 30, 2006 for filing 10-K for the year ended Dec. 31, 2005 and 10-Q for the quarter ending March 31, 2006.
